The Milton Glaser Project
For this project, I was tasked with researching a famous artist I felt a personal connection to. As I began exploring different artists, I was drawn to those who boldly expressed themselves—until I came across a simple, sleek design made up of just four elements: I ❤ NY. Its minimalism immediately resonated with me, as much of my own work leans toward a clean and minimal aesthetic. Curious to learn more, I discovered the creator was Milton Glaser. As I dove deeper into his portfolio, I was surprised to find that much of his other work was far more expressive and complex—quite different from the iconic simplicity of his most well-known piece. For this project, I was challenged to connect Glaser’s style to the University of Idaho while incorporating his artistic approach. The result is two posters that I believe reflect both his character and creative spirit—designs I think he would appreciate.
